My vintage Gordon & Ferguson M-422A is now offered for sale - with the acquisition of my ELC .50 Cal A-1, this simply isn't going to get the wear that it deserves.
This is a rare wartime goatskin jacket in a larger size (44) which is beautifully patinated and is illustrated on John Chapman's jacket CD. The M-422 and the M-422A (which is differentiated by having an asymmetrical pocket arrangement and a pencil slot) were famously used by the Flying Tigers.
It's a beautiful supple jacket with no issues - the shell is solid and sturdy with no holes, no smells, no torn seams and no rot.
At some point in its history the original name tag and squadron patch (apparently circular with 'horns') were removed and the zipper replaced with a triple marked Talon, but these were all executed very carefully.
It's an incredibly comfortable jacket: the fit is great around the torso, shoulders, length - the armholes and shoulders are comparatively wide and combined with the pleated biswing back this is a very forgiving pattern. I am 5'8" and around 190 lb and this fits extremely well with room for layering underneath.
Dimensions:
Front length 25"
Back length 26"
Shoulders 19"
Pit to pit (not extended) 23"
Sleeves 26"
I am asking $900 plus shipping and PayPal fees if applicable. I will ship worldwide insured to cover the purchase price.
