I can’t really justify having two identical Als as I’m a wearer not a collector! So am selling the heavier of the two that has worn lining. This has the cushiest leather I’ve ever seen on one of these—heavy but supple naked cowhide with beautiful graining that is really starting to pop. The leather on these Als is considered superior to Cals of the time—said to be comparable to Vanson’s much loved comp-weight cowhide. The hide is aging beautifully—a few very minor scuffs you might expect from a vintage jacket which has been used but definitely not abused.
The first layer of lining has worn out underneath the collar—this would not be seen in use but is very clear when off as the inner layer of the lining is bright green.
No musty, sweat, pet or cigarette odours.
I would say it’s a 38 or possibly a 40 as these run small. I am 5”8’ and usually wear 36-38 and it fits well with room for more chest/shoulder muscles! Do note these are very short and have an athletic triangular cut, so check the hem measurement in particular.
Looking for £200 plus shipping which is less than I paid and I hope a fair price. I’m aware given the size it will probably sell on eBay first!
