I've been on a support small and local businesses kick lately, so while I have a HOARD of eyeshadows from Too Faced, Urban Decay, Sugarpill, MAC, Besame, and others, I have been trying out mineral made eyeshadows from etsy crafters here in WIS. My kick has nothing to do with Occupyinsertwhereverwhateverhere... I've been on this kick for awhile. I'm just OccupyingMyOwnPart

Ahh, good for you. I don't even know where I would start to support small business make-up brands!

Lolita, can you recommend some indie makeup companies?
I've only tried Shiro Cosmetics, I love Shiro's geeky shade names but the eye shadows are a little too glittery for me.

I bought the Too Faced Naked Eye palette and whilst I like the box the shadows come in, the brushes and the cards that show you how to use the shadows to their best effect, I find the shadow pigment isn't that great - I'm a bit disappointed with it - shame really......

I can certainly see how that is possible. I have paler than pale skin (redhead) and I just can't handle shadows that 'come on too strong' so it works just right for me. For those who do have any pigment , it makes a lot of sense.

Is the Ulti-matte Oil absorbing primer good? I live in Corpus Christi and in the summer my makeup just melts off.
