Expensive eBay suit !

Phew...(My old Town Clad win was okay then!)

I won on a Town Clad (Sears) just before the QM weekend. Got it for around $130, lovely three piece (40-41R), 33-34" waist on pants - fits me to a tee, and in 'great' condition. Looks 'very like' this one that went for the 'high' price. But things go for as much as folk are prepared to pay [huh] (I know - I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said before in here).

I appreciate that 'quality' of tailoring and fabric and the 'name' all comes into the equation. But I'm more than happy with my old 'off the peg' Town Clad

And I've been getting plenty of wear out of it (even in the US over November/December).

Thanks, FM. It's not the 38L part that's hard, it's those trouser measurements that are the tricky part - but as you indicate, it could happen...

Paddy: when it comes to color, pattern and cut, your suit is practically identical to the one that sold on eBay for such a high price.


The only difference is the size. :eusa_doh: And in the case of vintage '30s-'40s suits and fedoras, larger sizes really, really MATTER!
