I just started a blog project, its probably been done to death already but Im going to have fun with it anyway.
I am going to dress 24/7 in 40's and 50's attire and blog about the fun of it, as well as the trials and tribulations of being an ol'fashioned gal in a modern world.
BUT before I go all out I am going to check out all your wonderful blogs to see how the experts do it.
here is the start of my blog, how exciting!

I'm paying nothing for Blogger :) All you need is a Google account.

Us chikkins too...

Why did you start your blog?

I just started mine recently. Because I was packing up my life and moving to a new "frontier" in my life. I felt it would be a fun way to give my old friends and family a window into my new world, and let me be creative in the process.

How did you decide on a topic, find your niche?

My life in a new place is the topic, and I have a sort of "frontier" or theme because that seems to sum up the feeling all this change has for me. It's me going back to "simpler" ways and paying attention to the things that matter to me.

Are you motivated to maintain your blog, why?

Medium - it depends on how I am doing, but I do want to stay connected and share with the people I love. I try to add to it when I have something to share, but I don't make myself feel guilty if I am not in the space to do it.

Have you found your blog to be an outlet or a way to stay passionate?

Yes, it's an outlet to share what is on my mind, so far it's not very "passionate" but that could change! I agree with someone else who said that blogging requires some courage. Being "open" about yourself for (potentially) the whole world to see it is, well, slightly daunting sometimes. On the other hand, maybe it is a chance for me to "live up" to who I want to be and how I affect others. I hope!

There is nothing particularly related to "vintage" on my blog so far, but if any of you gals want to see it, here is the link:

Meanwhile Back At The Ranch

Like I said above, it is pretty new, so only a few posts so far.

P.S. Here is my salute to all you creative and brave blogging ladies!! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

EDIT: I am following a whole bunch of you now! Perhaps my blogging life will evolve - all of you should know you inspire me!

1. Why did you start your blog?
No real particular reason, other than I enjoy writing and it's a good outlet for it. I can work on it when and if I choose to and if I get bored with it, I can take a break.

2. How did you decide on a topic, find your niche?
I don't have a niche, really, but I pick many of my topics based on things in the news or stuff that happens at home.

3. Are you motivated to maintain your blog, why?
I go in spurts with it. Sometimes I update every day, sometimes I get kind of blah and will go weeks without a word. Having just come off maternity leave, I was particularly quiet while I was away, but who can blame me for wanting to snuggle the baby all day long?

4. Have you found your blog to be an outlet or a way to stay passionate?
An outlet, definitely. A way to stay passionate? Yes, to a lesser extent, but definitely an outlet. I spend most of my day in a cubicle, saying nothing to no one, and having a blog lets me express my opinions and so on. It doesn't really matter if no one reads what I write, although that's always a bonus.

I had a blog for several years however I not really done anything with it as I was never sure what to put on it.

I friend of mine might have the right idea as she say here is just a place to write down her thoughts and not too worried if any one read it or not.

Personally I like thing to be in a order and tell a story or just be informative which you can do with a web site I think it's a little harder to do with a blog.

Any how I re started mine up again and you can see it
Pauline Delaware

or from a link on the front page of my web site

Of course it's about my interest in vintage fashions, .

I have a blog www.relivingalegacy.blogspot.com. I only started it recently. I began blogging partly because I was inspired by others' blogs & partly because I enjoy writing. I don't post on my blog as much as I want to right now, but hopefully more after the holidays. I usually write about sewing, recipes, nature, opinions, etc. Good luck to all with your blogs.

I have decided to use my blog as a sort of holding place for all the information about me. Things change so much on the internet I find it nice to have one place to park that is free.
It may inspire me to really give some time to working on it. Still trying to figure out how to navigate it and use it at its greatest potential.

Why did you start your blog?

I really wanted to renew my interest in dressing well, and dressing vintage... I think I got a little lazy, and I figured a blog was a good way to motivate me to make the effort :)

How did you decide on a topic, find your niche?

I liked having a personal blog, like a diary... but I really figured that nobody would really be too interested in reading it! I have a blog here for my illustration but I wanted something that I could use more for fun than for business. Then when I made my new year's resolution to start dressing the way that I used to... it just seemed perfect.

Are you motivated to maintain your blog, why?

So far yes, because it's all exciting and new! But we'll just have to see how I get on.

Have you found your blog to be an outlet or a way to stay passionate?

I'm hoping that having a blog (and hopefully an audience!) will keep me passionate about what I'm trying to do!

xx

Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog when I began looking at others on the web. At the same time for university I was required to write one and so I looked into a few and found the great network of vintage bloggers (and food bloggers, and writers and ...).

I thought that it would be a great way to follow others blogs and record my own vintage efforts - though not particularly to share with everyone - no one I actually know in "real life" apart from my fiancee know I have it.

How did you decide on a topic, find your niche?

I do not really only have one topic - it was supposed to be just vintage but then food and my apartment, my holidays etc started to find themselves included. I really blog about as a response to what others have blogged about or inspired me to post about.

Are you motivated to maintain your blog, why?

It was one of my New Year's Resolutions to blog twice a week - one a vintage blog and the other a food related blog (it's menu planning at the moment).

Have you found your blog to be an outlet or a way to stay passionate?

In a way - reading other blogs helps keeps me passionate about vintage and trying new things. I find my blog a great way to keep some sort of journal - I always used to keep one as a child - I also like looking at the pictures I have posted that remind me of good times.

If you would like to visit, my blog lives at:

http://vintagebel.blogspot.com/

Please note that it is not entirely vintage (though I wish it were)!

I JUST started a blog about a week ago and would love some followers. lol! So feel free to stop by and read my humble little blog.
Why did you start your blog? I work a very boring office job and have a lot of free time on my hands so I thought I would start a blog just to fill the time. I read lots of vintage/beauty/fashion blogs and get so much inspiration from them that I thought it would be fun to start my own.
How did you decide on a topic, find your niche? The topic is mostly vintage inspired: clothing, furniture, dancing, etc. Basically whatever pops into my brain.
Are you motivated to maintain your blog, why? So far!! Ha ha!
Have you found your blog to be an outlet or a way to stay passionate? I hope so. I've been feeling rather stagnate lately for a variety of reasons so I hope that this blog makes me try harder to pursue my passions and be more creative.

I was going to follow you temperamentalbroad but see no place to follow you. Odd. I wonder if you have to turn it on somewhere in the maintenance?

I've had my blog Life of a Jersey Girl for 4 years now - http://dvintage.blogspot.com/
It started out as a way to promote my vintage business but has turned more personal with posts about my own vintage things, my dogs, things around the house, geeky stuff that I like etc. I only do the occasional business whoring post there, but my business is still linked in the sidebar.
I like to blog because I just like sharing things in my life I guess. Showing off vintage things that I bought for myself, cute things that my dogs do, decorating things and crafting things when I have the time. I try to do a post at least once a week. If inspriration comes along I may end up doing several posts in one week.

I have another blog that I use as the update page for my website when I add new stock. That only gets 1 post a week.
I have another blog about things going on in Strathmere NJ, which is a nearby tiny seashore town. That may only get 1 post a month, nothing much happens in the town this time of year.

I also started the Vintage Bulletin blog, which has over 90 members who post about vintage clothing. Most of the posters are vintage clothing sellers, promoting what they are selling, and there are some informative vintage clothing related posts too.

I can't see mine either. Must be a glitch in the system. Funny you mentioned it, I just went to my blog and noticed the same thing lol

LD, I don't think I'm that interesting either, but sewing and patterns are fun and lots of folks like it! I know I find other sewing blogs really inspiring. They keep me motivated!
