When I was a kid my father and I were driving north from Chicago on Sheridan Road's twisty, hilly section called the ravines. The car in front of us swerved to avoid a squirrel and hit a tree doing around 50 mph. It was a woman driver and she went through the windshield. It was a bloody mess. The old man looked at me and said," Kid, just run 'em over." I said, "Got It!"
I can totally understand that.
Then I again, I swerve toward them..........:p

Congratulations C-Dot!
I hate that parallel parking too but I do it almost daily.
I chose a shorter vehicle than the one I used to be assigned, and it works out better.
Of course if the test hadn't worked out, you could have chosen one of two options.
First, find a smaller town to test in like on the Munsters.
Second, borrow one of Tom's wagons and ask "how many of these (cars) you want me to take out?" I'm sure they'd pass you before making you try to park the wagon. :D

Squirrels help improve my aim when I am driving. :p

Yeah, but all-season tires just wouldn't cut it - Not enough tread, too much of a thud. My super duper winter tires with 4.5 inches of tread are ideal, but the little freaks have to go and hibernate once it gets a bit cold. Cowards...

I'm too poor to pay for the gasoline to Pardeeville lol For my second test when I was about 18, I used my mum's VW Rabbit. Not only is it small and manageable, it's super cute while doing it and it accelerates so smoothly. This time when I asked if she might be feeling charitable enough to let me use it again, she said "You have your own car now, kid." Thanks, mom. :D

Thank you :)

I like your vintage picture by the way, Tom!

Same here, my big sister always looks so nice!

I like your new avatar.:)

Thanks to Jimmy, I haven't been to the Piggly Wiggly in months, except for fixin's to go with the main course!

I send them all to Tom though so don't think I waste them. :p

You bring the urban assault wagon and they'll leave ya alone. When I brought my 1960 Chevy the laughed and wouldn't let me use it. Manual steering, manual brakes, and no seat-belts. They said the car failed the safety test. I told them it came from the factory that way and they said it didn't matter. Took it in a 1995 GMC Jimmy, thanks to Mom and Dad. I didn't have to parallel park, either. Not many cars in Portage at 7AM.

I used one of my higher end cars the last time I had to drive for a drivers test that had the ride along person. They were so excited about riding in the car, they asked me to just drive around and answer performance questions and things about the car, rather than asking me to do anything specific, and then drive them back to where we started. I think I would have gotten a few tickets had any Police observed the way I was driving at the time, but I was passed with flying colors.

I think he just gets giggly... he NEVER sleeps! lol
I know I am part vampire myself, and as such notice you have been rolling along in a few threads on the boards as well. Now I never tell anyone how I manage to keep my eyes open when I have not been to bed for a day or so, however, I wonder if you use the tape and glue application, or, the old stand bye tooth picks to hold your eye lids up???

That happened to a friend of mine. Wish I could afford a high-end car lol

Ah! A silver lining to my kinfolk moving farther away. Now Rue's on the Lounge when I'm finally able to be here!

I was at the Casino today and had a great time giving them the majority of the money I had to spend. I had some luck a few days ago, and in general I normally come out with more than what I walked in with...but today lady luck tossed me under the bus...and back over me a few times to boot! It is interesting that many times those that are around me when I am winning make comments like, "How do you do that" or, " what is your secret"??? I always make some half witted comment back as if what I suggest is top secret. One time I told this lady I keep all my pocket change in my left pocket and it brings me luck, so, she responded she had no pockets. I had to make her blush when I said, you can use mine....haha!

I tell you seriously, I never recall that out west is a different time factor. I am horrible about remembering that. But to state the reality of time, I hardly ever get many hours of sleep, I think a part of me fears I will miss something that happened while sleeping and I love life so much, I don't want to miss one single moment of it!
