Against elephants.
That's some impressive shooting,I still rather the above 500 as it wouldn't look so obvious and if the oppositionMy current favorite toy is a .338 Lapua magnum with Leupold glass. Did my mile shoot back in Febuary with it and shot a 4" group of ten rounds.

Hunting for Walcreatures?
Those ones aren't the legal ones unless they have the whale tail sticking out the top of the pretty pink sweatsYeah..I saw one last weekend at the Walmart...in pink sweats. :eeek:

Really stupid question but do you use something like that for actually hunting and if so hunt what?(other than land whales)I dunno, taking down one of those land whales might require a heavier calibur than anything I've got. Biggest I've shot is a 50 beowolf and I'd only give it a 20% chance at taking one clean.

Hi
The .50 Beowulf is a round designed for the AR-15 platform. It's legal to hunt with in many states, but you have to limit the number of rounds in the magazine for deer (probably). If I was somewhere where I could hog hunt on a regular basis, the .50 Beowulf would be a good round. I would rather have the .450 Bushmaster because I already had the .45 bullets. .50 Beowulf isn't a .22 Short, but neither is it the .50 Browning. The semi-automatic action absorbs some of the recoil which is helpful.
