Looks great 16! I love the color too. You have some wonderful vanity items too.
I adore projects like this and trash to treasures.

What a cute kitty! Thought you might enjoy this since you're a cat lover,

I was going to add a little curtain too, but decided it would keep it too "moist" inside.

My modest vanity is no more! I'm moving back to Chicago and with the new apartment I have more room, so I decided to upgrade my vanity. Again, I worked with what I had.

Initially, when I was thinking about making a new vanity, I was thinking of making it ala Blueprint Magazine. They had an article a few issues ago that had a vanity made out of two small drawers, one on either side, with a plate glass top (online tutorial here). But I don't have drawer sets, nor do I have the money to buy them, so then I started looking around the apartment to see what I could use. I utilized two tables that we weren't really using: a folding card table and a glass top coffee table. So, I got the 4' card table, covered it with some fabric from my stash and topped it with the beveled glass from the coffee table (lucky it was the same size). I added the glass topper so I don't have to worry about staining the fabric, to have a smooth surface and to give the vanity a polished look.

The one thing I wanted to spend money on is a new mirror - I've been wanting a tri-fold mirror for a while now, so I searched Ebay until I found exactly what I was looking for. The total cost for the entire vanity was $50, the cost of the mirror. Needless to say, I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Very cute! I think student desks make great vanities--you can put a cloth over them & still have access to the drawers for makeup storage.

My neighbor is moving and giving us her art deco chest of drawers. I can now get rid of my huge dresser and have room for the chest and vanity. It's a style I have seen often so I think I can find a vanity that will match.
