I got this at the Eastman Leather pop up this week and thought I would start a thread to share some fit pictures.
Size is 46, cut feels a bit trimmer and shorter than the standard goat Navy G-1 that Eastman make. Hide is a lovely rich, deep, waxy brown. Lining is a very nice olive rayon/cotton.
Fit pictures on a wet, rainy, cold day

Thanks!

I've been wearing it with a sweatshirt this week and has been plenty warm enough in the frosty mornings.

I agree, the g-1 is a revelation in mobility compared to a2!

Great looking jacket!

I am not sure that the A-2 is more "popular' than the G-1. Both are great jackets and I think most agree that the G-1 is a far more ergonomically designed jacket, it was considered to be the case even back in WW2 G-1's (and their similarly designed predecessors) have been manufactured and used by the USN/USMC almost continuously since WW2 so they were/are much less of a rarity perhaps making them less of a "specially" item. There is also the nostalgia/interest in WW2 Army Air Corps that feeds the A-2 popularity a little bit. Both are great jackets, the answer is to own BOTH styles!!!!!!

That jacket really fits well and the outdoors setting is spot on.
Had a look at these but did not try one on. Not really a G1 guy at the moment, the look comes and goes with me.
As to it's popularity, maybe the A2 can be worn with a far wider range of every day clothing than the G1. Not everyone that buys these jackets are military enthusiasts so they appeal to those who can afford a little better than a TKMaxx mall jacket. I point this out as there are many current fashion jackets that contain elements of the A2 rather than the G1.

Thanks dudes. The outdoor setting is my garden. The woods are on the other side of a barley field at the end.
This is certainly an everyday jacket for me. It's my only leather jacket. It feels more wearable than an a2 because of the gussets and action back. The aero j106 I had in fqhh was great on a motorcycle but too heavy and tiring for everyday wear.

I'm with @Fanch on his observation. I LOVE the A-2, and it's more useful for me being in LA, but all around, it's probably the one mil jacket I'd own if someone put a gun to my head and said you get ONE. I'm going to include the M-4xx jackets in the topic as they're similar enough for me. And look at Good Wear's site to see the pics. If I only had $2k and two years...seeing as how many friends and other's I've lost this year, I don't any longer feel like a two-year wait is a good investment...
