Electric Hat Stretcher

My husband was a hat man - boaters, Russian chapkas, top hats, fedoras, etc. He passed away last year and I am going through his things. One unusual item is an electric hat stretcher. It has been rewired so is not in original condition. It was plugged in and began heating so it works. I cannot find a name or maker on it. Have seen them on ebay from $100 - $200. I'm asking $125 plus postage if anyone is interested. It is heavy.
I tried to link or insert photos from my iphoto but the link in this message format relates only to a url. I did write to this website asking how to do it but never got a response.

Hello,

You can only post pictures directly in this forum when you reach 10 posts.
You can post a direct link to a pictures hosting website like photobucket.

Hello. I will try to help you some. You need to make enough posts to be able to have access to private messages. If you desire to put a picture of anything here, let me explain it. Place a picture on photo bucket or any other web based photo website service like it. Next, you then would click on the picture and you will see several options for sharing the link to your picture. One of those options will show you an option that will say "image" and in a box related to that options will show [url=http:// and then the picture information. You can click on that to copy it, then you will come here and paste that copy when you click on the blue world icon on the tool bar above where you post in the menu it will show, when you click on the blue world with a small picture of a link on the bottom of that icon...it will open a window...put your mouse there to paste what you have copied and then save the post you will then see the picture on your post...you can edit anything you need to type out such as contact information or to contact you using the PM's here...but please post a few times to build up the access to having private messages activated. If you need any further help just ask right here as someone will always be kind enough to help if you need it.

Now sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. I'll check back in a while to see if you respond to this and if you do need any more help...

Thanks and oh yes...stick around here. The Lounge is a great place and we have a ton of wonderful people that you can get to know and make friends with, including ME! LOL!

Bless you,
Cindy

I recently purchased one but it has a frayed power cord. Anyone know if these require a special kind of electrical cord or if any regular one will do?

Thanks.

I’ve just bought one of these by RICO, it has an heating element but I don’t know if that works because it came without a cord and without the lamp which signals the unit being on or off.

Looks nearly identical (also has a thermostate) to this one found on line aside from the shape of the two aluminum elements which in mine look more symmetrical . Anyone with experience in using this device (aside from cranking a steamed hat).

Advise appreciated
