Well, I don't know about dressing up, but I always do my hair vintage! It matches my hooded sweatshirt perfectly.

I'll be voting before class today. Hopefully I'll be going when most everyone else is at work/in class so the lines won't be too long for me. Yay, I'm excited! First time voting ever!

I was one of the first in line, and the I VOTED sticker looks especially spiff on my vintage coat, worn today over a late-30s day dress.

I voted this morning. Went very smoothly, taking no longer than ten minutes, tops. I wasn't even late for work.

It's always a thrill for me to vote, but especially in presidential elections and even more so this year, which I consider one of the most important elections in decades.

May the best man win, indeed.

I voted right after dropping my daughter off at school. I have my I Voted sticker on my NZ lambskin jacket that I was wearing with a newsboy cap and levis khaki cargo pants. Sorry, Brian, but that's as dressed-up as I generally get.

What makes me feel especially good on this bright autumn morning is knowing that every registered voter in the USA has the right to vote today. Voting makes me feel patriotic.

My gruesome balloting

I voted via absentee ballot a week and a half ago, but I probably wouldn't've bothered if I had needed to go to a polling place.

I hope to avoid most news today, aside from Indecision '08, and wake up tomorrow to learn just how this long national nightmare of a campaign ended... and to inaugurate the next one, which I presume will begin forthwith.

My polling place - an old schoolhouse used for all kinds of civic and personal functions - was hazy when I entered a little before 7am. Apparently, the heating system was putting out a bit of smoke after starting up.

I got a big laugh out of the volunteers when I said, "Well, I always heard that elections were decided in smoke-filled rooms!"

Tonight, many of the local politicos will gather here at the courthouse and watch the election returns. There will be a large board with a running tally of the local and national races. There will be back slapping and hand pumping and story telling. Later, my political party will celebrate over at one of our local restaruants. I'm thinking that it will be a very rowdy event.

On most election nights, I usually just walk over to the courtroom wearing whatever suit I wore to work. But not tonight. Tonight I will go home and change before I return for the party. When I come back, I will be wearing my faded Levis with tattered knees. I will be wearing a vintage University Of North Carolina sweatshirt and my old M-51 field jacket.

I can't quite put my finger on it---or maybe I can---but something about this election has put me in such a mood.

I early-voted on Saturday just because otherwise, working voting into my schedule today would have proved to be pretty stressful.

Still, I'm excited for Election Day. Looking forward to following the news tonight.

I know. Mine didn't either. Everytime before I received one. I was not happy.
I voted in early voting as I was moving from Texas to Arkansas. lol

It is an honor to be able to vote.

I voted a week and a half ago, but I worked for four hours earlier today for my candidate. I won't be able to relax until this is over and hopefully, he's won.

I got an I Voted sticker when I voted early.

I'm hoping to partake in that later on today...just as soon as I can get away from campus. Sadly, I don't think the Starbucks on campus is participating in the free coffee offer due to it being privately run at the university.
