"Eichap" hats?

Anyone heard and/or seen this make of hat? Google tell me they are made in Portugal but not much else. I can't find anyone who sell them. [huh]

Old or new?
Fur or wool?
Cr*p or gold?

Took the plunge

I took a gamble and bid for this size 61/UK7¬? EICHAP black fedora in DLQ (De Lux Quality). Didn't have any black lid in my collection and it was in my size so I figured 'what the heck'. I won it pretty cheep. ($15)

The exterior look a mess with all that dust and brutal front pinch.

The inside is crisp though.

Can't find a scrap of information on the EICHAP brad so i guess I'll just have to wait and see when the hat arrives. [huh]

It feels a bit strange buying a black felt hat in the middle of summer.

Definately not new. To my knowledge there is no hat manufacturer left in Portugal just a company who produces the felt bodies.

Black as night

Well, today I got my Eichap in the mail and I was happily surprised to find such a minimum worn, perfectly black, decent quality fedora.

I wish I knew more about this hat company because I wouldn't mind having this hat in a couple of other colors as well.

Brim is bound - 70mm
Hatband is 35mm

Hat is light compared to my Barbisio but much stiffer then my Borsalino.

Next time you're in Stockholm, check out "Old Touch", the Vintage shop-
Upplandsgatan 43, T-Bana Odenplan (I think).
Maybe you know it, maybe you don't.
A lot of people don't know it.

I've bought 3 hats there.
Prices are cheap and sometimes the stuff is fabtastic.
It's mainly Womens clothing but some of the Mens gear is just too good to miss.
I also bought a really nice, '40s suit there for around 400 kronor.
Leather too.

Thanks guys! Always nice to hear that the new lid does not make me look like a complete dork. The hat was actually about ¬?-size too big but a couple of 1/8 cork strips took care of that little problem
