Sunday nights appear to be when the gettin' gets got up on Ebay, anyone else notice? (sorry.. watching Tru-Blood now and I've got a Louisiana twang happening currently) hehe.. Love this show! Almost as good as Carnivale and Rome, but that's a different topic. :)

Ignatz, I was contemplating that before the purchase. Does it refer to attending or appearing? If attending, perhaps I'll wear it the next time Mrs. Ignatz and you join Mrs. Torts and me to the thea-tah. If appearing, perhaps I'll wear it for my next performance in the title role of Richard III. It's better than a lousy crown and will work with the traditional black outfit. Best, Sam

PS That was your 600th post and this is my 400th.

When I first started buying/selling on ebay (2001), Sunday night was known as the best time to sell, but that was before sniping software. A lot of sellers still start auctions on Sunday nights, but it doesn't seem to be near as important for sales. Saturday around noon used to be the absolute worst time to sell, and the best time to get great deals.

Sunday nights are still good for enticing those bidders who refuse to use sniping software. (You know who you are!)

Until this week, I always had my auctions end on Sunday nights.

Indeed, Marc. I'm hoping to win one of yours soon!

Just got this one on eBay. If the description is accurate, it looks to be quite a hat with a very interesting ribbon.
Unless there's damage we haven't seen, looks like a bargain to me.

I STILL don't have a Dunlap...

Wow.. Amazing how fate works.. I'm just an ignorant newb, and I've got a Dunlap and a Cavanagh Edge (coming). :)

But I won't boast... I haven't been in the presence of a Stratoliner or Open Road yet, nor any Akubra or vintage whippet, that I could budget out the cash for, yet. And I'm just lucking up on stingy's.. So I'm still a newb. hehe. I keep winning some other hat, distracting me from the goal.

Makes me think maybe I'm subconsciously drawn to that 50's-early 60's era hats, just before fashion went to the dogs. (ducking flying tomatoes from the tie-dye bell-bottom crowd). hehehe Or maybe those are low-hanging fruit compared to the wide-brim classics.

A thought.. What to wear with such a stingy. I guess I gotta read the back-logs of MrLapel's blog and do some searching in here as well to justify these new-to-me 2" and sub 2" brim hats with appropriate attire. I'm sure I'll have to make a judgement call with the modern suits I have whether it's a no or a go.

Beautiful hat Sue. That's the kind of hat that I haven't been able to score yet. Stunning!
