Just a question I have. Is the bow on the wrong side or is that a womans hat?

IThis is twice now that I've seen the bow on the female side, Dick Cheney was the other.
Regarding the Lee Ebay hat, the brim flip is reversed.

As for Cheney.... I'm not going there.

thanks- it looks to be pretty much unworn. It does look like the edge is Cav'd. I almost didn't buy it -up to not bidding until there was only 45 seconds left! I had convinced myself to put that 30 bucks towards a Moonstone Fed 4, but then figured they were so different, it wouldn't matter they were the same color.

To suitedcboy - I am the sucker - took a chance on your hat even though it is impossible to figure the color from the pics. I bid high, very surprised that it went for under $100. I went for it because:

I have another resistol with that liner, sweatband look - man, what a fine, fine hat it is - my fav thin ribbon, a very well-made hat.
Green.
Felted edge. I prefer at least 2 1/2, but will accept 2 3/8 brims if everything else about the hat is absolutely TOP SHELF, which this one appears to be. The gal at Optimo sized me up for 2 1/4 anyway, so 2 3/8 is not a bad compromise between how I see myself and how others see me. ;)
Seller's description sounded like one of us; spot on honest and straight; low risk of getting an unpleasant 'surprise.'

I am sad that you had to part with such a beauty. You can always buy it back. By next winter, I'll be in love with a different one anyway!

Interesting. Do you think Ebay is uploading the photos backwards or is it the fault of the seller?

I don't mean a mirror image. It seems some sellers just snap the brim down on the wrong side (snapping down the back of the brim instead of the front of the brim) and photograph it that way. Maybe women selling the hat and assuming the bow is on the same side? That's just a guess, though.

Well, I sure as blazes hope you guys are right; if not, I've just bought another woman's hat. I've been known to do that before (ask me how I know!)
Somehow, that Lee doesn't look very "female" to me, though.

Would it have a Cavanagh edge???

Lucky for me, it didn't work out for Dean, so I'll be sending payment on February 1st. Excited to have it! I really liked it, but completely misunderstood the auction description and thought it said the sweatband was black when they were actually referring to the ribbon. Dinerman says it's likely a late 50's. I'll post better pictures when it arrives in the first half of February.

Believe it or not, besides the Stratoliner I sold and the Whippet I'm selling in the Classifieds, this will be my only Stetson.

Thanks Lefty! Thanks Dean! No problems brushing a hat out. Despite the bound brim, I think that hat will work casually. Looking forward to receiving it.
