Thanks Ole, I have what appears to be an early 1960's Langenburg stingy brim in midnight blue with the same markings.

Actually, Bowlerman found this one some days ago. Exactly the same die - and I upped this pic of my own sweat. Interesting to see they used the same plate/die for different brands/labels

Just got this one from ebay...another 3X Open Road with a 2 1/2 inch wide brim. Pretty nice for just under $33. I'll change out the cattleman's crease and put a C-Crown in it like the one I'm wearing in my avatar...

It's possible that it's German. Are you familiar with such a label? The only one in the hat, with an inscrutable "43" - maybe an inspector's mark?
