Thanks Rick. I am having fun with it now. I actually won another open road (a newer Stetson) but I haven't received it yet. I didn't count on winning both but I'll see what I end up with. The Knox Westlite has a $16.50 price sticker inside the sweat band and came with the original box. I'm trying to search the FL site to get an approximate date. The box has the owners name on the bottom on a delivery tag to a hotel in Texas and it matches the intitials on the sweat band. Kinda cool...

I know what you mean. I have been jonesin' bad for a Stetson OR from the Morris Menswear store in the lobby of the Chicago Union Stockyard Inn. That's where, from 1865 on, having sold their herd the Texas cattle Tycoons flush w/ $$$, would get themselves new togs, hat included.

Yep, thats me Mobile Vulgus. I bought it from a fellow lounger a couple of weeks ago. I then realized this week that I had to downsize my collection. It was starting to get out of hand. Now that I have closet space, its time to go on the hunt again.

I agree. Ordinarily, I would not have bid on it because the brim is way too small for me. But I am warming to Stetsons, for one thing, and that makes the oldest hat in my collection, so the age appealed to me, too. Now if I can figure a way to make sure that sweatband doesn't rip anymore than it has.

Just got this Resistol Open-Road wanna be, $10. Has a bit of moth damage, but I think I can work around it with the HarpPlayerGene method (oh, what would I do without the fedora lounge?).

Looks good, and you can't beat the price. I bought a modern Stetson Open Road with a cattleman's crease, which I knew I didn't want. Had it re-shaped to a "center dent with pinches," and can now wear it a lot. Just took it off from having it on most of the day today.

Man, I thought that 7 1/2 stratoliner would go for a lot more than $202. Not my size but heck I should have bid anyway for that. I bet a 7 3/8 will come along for me and go for $500, with my luck.

I suspect some sort of fedora lounge underground gentlemen's agreement in place.

JERK ALERT! Picture from the back means two BIG moth tracks on the front one on the crown right above the ribbon and one below the ribbon.Big enough to bend a rim on a tire.PLUS I asked about something I seen on the sweatband maybe a tear NO TEAR but the stitching was coming out.But got my money back then he emails me. SEND (MY F---ING HAT BACK FAST) Well it has been there since Nov.3 You just do not do things that way! So you might watch out and THANKS FOR LETTING ME VENT
