I was thinking it was filed under the 'special exclusions' category because I could foresee the price going crazy high. Apparently there's still some raw nerves on the issue, so please accept my humble apologies for this little hiccup.

Poorly listed bucket hat

I just landed this one, another shot-in-the-dark snipe that panned out. Seller says no mothing/stains - "1/4" size tag, Stetson Sovereign Mode Edge

NOW you tell me..... lol The seller was quick to respond to my questions, even though he didn't post the questions/answers. I didn't think my bid was all that high considering the age (fractional size tag) and Sovereign designation. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I thought I might get it cheap - had a $55 snipe on it, but was a little nervous for the reasons posted above.

But...the Stetson Twenty Mode Edge really nice - if it's in good condition (supple sweat, no mothing) and the brim is a decent width, you've got a great hat. And as we've said before here, the 'cav edge' process is extinct, and the old Stetson felt (especially Twenty) is also unmatched today, so they are certainly worth whatever you pay, regardless of the market.

I wouldn't worry about it Salt. Looks like a beaut. Kinda similar to this one I just won. An old 40's Worthington. Can't wait to fix it up. Albeit, mine needs a little more work than yours does.

Sure looks like it to me. Superb Milan hat.
Really made in Italy, too, I bet. And what a pugaree.

I've never held one of those modern Optimo "milans"
(with Chinese bodies), but I can't imagine you get as
nice a hat for your $500.
