What in the world did I just do? I wonder if I've cut my hair short enough to avoid stretching this strange beast! The measurements are sketchy, or else the size is wrong. If it's actually a 20.5 inch circumference, you may see it pop up again, but I just had to take the risk for a closer look.

What the heck is Formosan straw, anyway? :)

OMG, Marge Simpson's cowgirl hat! That H7I logo inside the sweat suggests "7 inches tall"

I want to see pics of you wearing it! This should be fun!

Attention BIG Heads: Three 7 5/8 long oval western fedoras hit ePrey overnight.
This safari style not so western at all
This whiskey western
A
nd this very appealing gray western

I
'm not familiar with this TX brand, but they have been discussed here the condition and quality looks good (perhaps even new old stock??); the rest of the seller's stock looks like decent estate material. Also a big Akubra with a bid;

But at that rare size I thought you Big Uns should check 'em out.

Fun, to be sure! I had a feeling that H7I had more to do with the model/ crown height than the size, which the seller suggested... so let's hope the measurements they provided were way off! More than likely the small-headed folks around here will see this listed in the classifieds before long.

I lost the auction to this gorgeous late 1800's/early 1900's hat over the week.

Rare Vintage 1800s Mens Bowler wide brim felt Hat by Chesterfild

Its probably for the best though...In the process of moving, I had to move my hats. When all the hats and hat boxes were pulled out, I took a step back and went, "wow, maybe I should really cut down on buying hats for a bit..." I then thought for a second....and said, "nah, I don't have so many......" :D

You must have quite a few of these vintage gems by now. Have you ever posted a shot of your entire collection?

They're all in huge hat boxes, about 5 hats per box, stacked up on top of each other, lol..I am going to start selling off some of my 40s, 50s and 60s hat and focus solely on 20s/30s hats. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think it's natural to start off buying widely and then focusing once your taste is defined. And I can understand your interest in the older items.

Once you whittle it down, please do consider sharing a shot of the best of your collection. It seems to me that you have some really great stuff.

Zetwal, I am not sure if I will ever do it but if I do I'll post the link in my siggy. My biggest hindrance is lack of motivation, or I guess you can call it laziness:D

No shame in that ... Taking and uploading hat pics is definitely an elective! Either way, enjoy your new vintage cloche.
