Yep. Wasn't me, though I reckon it was another Lounger (Johnny J?)

First time I've ever seen a "weaseled-in" BIN deal on eBay for a vintage newsboy cap. Figures: deadstock with original tags, great condition, good size.

Marc you were right! My apologies. I'm the one that got that Malrov. Temptation was too big. I was saving to get a Mr. Freedom cap and when I seen this one I thought to myself "I gotta have it"!

Crofut & Knapp Cap

Won this Crofut & Knapp cap in the wee hours of the morning, thanks to eSnipe. The leather is coming unstitched and the crest has some wear, but I can't remember seeing a C&K cap come up for auction before, at least not one this old. I decided I had to have it, condition issues and all, as I never know when another might turn up. Looking at the auction bids, I'm guessing I got it for the reserve price.

Thanks guys! I think the seller is correct on the decades. I'm not sure I could narrow the age down any tighter than that. It could be older, and it could date to the '40s. There may be more clues under the sweat. I've got information at home as to the year they started making caps, but can't remember at the moment.

I had thought 20's or 30's as well, but never having seen a C&K cap before, I had no comparisons. I can't wait to hear if there are any price tags or dates under the sweatband!

Say, folks, did this 30s Panama turn up somewhere on the FL? I sure would like to see some better pics of the weave. The size info was slightly less than ideal but it certainly would have been worth a gamble.

Changed my mind. I'll post pics of it in the "New Hats", "Pre-1940s Stetson dress hats", and "Panama Hats" sections. The size is on the larger end of 7 1/8.
