Ditto on that sale, wished it was bigger in size. It does seem when you are on the prowl on eBay, you always find something you relish but then notice the size is not going to fit. I have seen many of a pair of shoes, hats, suits, that are just not going to fit, and wish some how there would be something exactly the same but in my size listed. Life is good...

Peschel

I recently won this Anton Peschel, size 59cm. It has brim curl at the binding but it doesn't look like a Homburg flange. Probably late 1950s early 1960s.

I just scored a "Royal Biltmore" fedora. $67.41 includes shipping. I doubt it is vintage because the size tag is in both English and metric sizes but I got it for about $100 less than retail. I was surprised I got it for so little.

Having trouble uploading the pictures of it from my Mac. Here is the link for now.

You did good on that buy, I was checking the hat out, it is a clean nice hat for sure. I just recently purchased a few hats, one was grey Fedora new (pre owned but never worn) a Churchill wide brim. I was lucky like you and got a good deal!

I was intrigued by this little Cross Country. The seller responded to my query on possible damage glimpsed in the low resolution pictures, but I decided to bid on it anyway. Flanul?

Sorry I ran the price up a bit on you, Alan. Flanul Felt originally came from Hodshon-Berg, a subsidiary of Hat Corporation of America. This was the first time I've seen it applied to the Dobbs brand. It's a wool/fur felt mixture produced during the early Forties since European hare, rabbit, and coney was hard to come by, one of many different ideas tried to get through the shortage. I would have to think it's better than the casein felt hats.

Thanks Brad. I thought to call you several times during the week while watching this one. I had decided to pass when the seller confirmed moth damage then changed my mind again at the end. Will share some thoughts and better pictures when it arrives.

cheers,
Alan
