My goodness, that looks just like a Dobbs I have!

Its tough to tell colors on the computer, especially with the quality of some cameras, but in some of your photos the color of your hat matches mine, which is not truly represented by the picture, either. My crown started out with the same proportions are yours. I had recreased it shortly before taking the picture.

Here it is before the rebash:

Looks a lot like yours:

Hückel ? + P. & C. Habig ?

Hückel ?, size 58cm, probably late 50s early 60s. I got this one for 1 EURO. Poor photos but I think it will be ok assuming it has a ribbon/bow.

P. & C. Habig ?, size 58cm, brown, probably mid to late 1960s. Another cheap one from the same seller. Again poor photos but I think it will turn out to be pretty nice.

Some interesting hats, Steve. You didn't go after the Wegener back-bow(Borsalino seller) or Stetson?

Robert, Thanks! You keep piling up the amazing finds! I put a bid on the Wegener back-bow but didn't win. I didn't bid on the Stetson. Did you see the Wegener Homburg I posted a couple pages back? I think that one looks interesting too.

DRB, Thanks! It should look much better after a good steam and brush. :)

That is a beautiful inside finish... fifteen dollars bought a lot when that hat was first sold.

Ain't that the truth ...

I though we had seen Imperials around here before. I guess I'm mistaken. I had one a while back but didn't keep it. Unfortunately, I didn't keep (or even take) any pictures. Now I sort of wish I would have. It would have been nice to compare them.

We've seen many Imperial quality Stetson's, but this is a "The Imperial". Just like there are Royal Stetson quality hats but Douglas has a "The Royal Stetson".

I see what you mean. Maybe you're right. In any event, the logo in it's entirety didn't look unfamiliar to me. On the other hand, in retrospect I'm really not sure what I had.

That is a beautiful liner. Once you start the thread others may pop up. Either way, it's a cool hat ... ;)

That seems to be the first generation of High Aristocracy that replaced the Standard/Excellent,etc qualities in the mid '30's and then the logos were modified within a few years.
Trademarked The Royal,Sovereign,Playboy,Bantam all in '34-36
