I think after a second round of steaming it will be fine :) Thanks for the support!

That's quite a good result there, Tampahound! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Much better than I would have expected, but then again I wasn't aware that bowlers came in softer crowns. Thanks for the info/ad post, D-man. I learn something new here almost every day!

Cheers,
Tom

RE: OH MY!

The seller emailed with apologies, and asked how I would like to move forward. I figured since the hat wasn't a total loss, and a box would be nice to store the hat in, I asked for a refund of the $12 I paid for shipping. I figure I can pick up a box locally for that or less. [huh]

I will post a picture of me in the hat in the new hat thread soonish...I have to do round 2 of the steaming first. ;)

I just closed this auction early. I've been waiting for one of these, and this one looks like a good one worth the price. I'll post better pictures when it gets here.

My first ebay win . . .

Might be a little overkill on pictures, but here's my first win. Needs some cleaning and blocking, but for $20 shipped, it was a steal I think. Comments/suggestions are welcomed . . .

It did seem a little snug, even though I am a 7 1/8, but when I take it to get cleaned and blocked I was going to ask the hatter to stretch out some.

Wow, was actually tempted by this but someone grabbed a 7 3/8 Whippet (40's?) on a BIN for $250.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270371495105&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123

You pulled over bigger pics than I did, billy. I couldn't resist it. I've been waiting for a Whippet for quite a while, and I didn't want that one that color to get away. The seller started the auction at $180, and I didn't think the BIN was too bad so I snagged it early. :D

I was outbid on the Supernatural so I bid on the Dobbs instead. They are both very nice porkpies and in my size so I figured, what the hell? I need more summer hats. [huh]

I have three Dobbs with that Baskin stamp on them. I just assumed they were a store name. Any Ideas?
