En route.... surprised no one bid on this gorgeous lid.

Saw that one pop-up. Not my size, so I didn't follow it. Excellent hat, Max. Love the wide ribbon.I lost a couple of auctions this weekend to wishful thinking, so I made sure of this one today.
Seller says 40s or early 50s Resistol Beaver Forty.

Fantastic hat, Doug. Congrats. Those are the best auctions: when nobody else sees what you see (and you're right).En route.... surprised no one bid on this gorgeous lid.

I saw it, but I have the exact same model and color, Doug. I was tempted anyway. Now I'm glad I didn't go for it.En route.... surprised no one bid on this gorgeous lid.

Nice!Got it! The weave, count, and color of this Graham Thompson-blocked Montecristi look exactly like the one I purchased at Optimo for several times more money

You better hope Romina didn't read that post over your shoulder, Max.Here's Romina, Mara Alisa's cat, with Cooper in the background. Come pick her up anytime, Jim. I don't like or even trust cats.

I love a fancy liner but there is something about the unlined hats that makes them seem deluxe. Less is more?
Most woolfelt hats are unlined .... just sayin
If you wear felt in the hot seasons removing the liner helps.I love a fancy liner but there is something about the unlined hats that makes them seem deluxe. Less is more?

But a vintage hat, with that sewn in liner, is sure difficult to violate.

I was staying with friends a few years ago, and discovered their cat came into my room and pissed all over my white silk polo shirt. I told them later I was sorely tempted to throw that damnable creature out the window of their 7th floor condo. Luckily, soaking in oxiclean and woolite a couple times saved the shirt. You better hope Romina didn't read that post over your shoulder, Max.
You might put on your favorite golf shirt and get all the way out the door before you recognize the smell.

An unlined, lightweight fur felt lid is awesome. I have a sweet Champ so designed. It's also why I had my bshw lid made that way, with aeration venting... an idea taken from a vintage Playboy owned by @splintercellszI love em both. I have an embroidered last drop 3X and I love that thing, as well as my red nutria quality and my red Canadian stetson. But some of the old standard quality and early 1900's unlined fur felt hats just have a certain vibe that makes me happy.
