I haven't spent much time thumbing through eBay recently - what a wonderful collection of unusual stuff has accumulated there in my absence. 400 thread count monticristis, "Stack" Hats by Borsalino with Cavanaugh edges, lots of all beaver 1940s Stratoliners and Borsalinos and 1930s boaters in the original 1960s box. High early bidding too. I forgot how much fun window shopping can be. I do miss the old popcorn emoticon, though...
I noticed that first bunch of larger hat’s by the same seller has the same bidder as the highest early bidder since the beginning in all hat’s offered.
Unusual, don’t think i’ve ever seen that!!
Odd!!

All ebay hats are 100% beaver made before 1940, you know that! :)

Yes. I sent a "Vintage" Stratoliner back last week. There was a date stamp on the inside of the hat band...2014!
Was it this guy?

Did someone snag this today? I hope so. Thought about messaging the seller myself but it's not my size.

7X CB listed for $17.30 - Only lasted a couple hours

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stetson-SELF-CONFORMING-7-X-BEAVER-MAVERICK-STYLE-HAT-1-4-Long-Oval-/283570490054?nma=true&si=gx8uyKwhEyCzRe9vWJfL2MFJ7wY%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

It ended up getting relisted with a BIN. I had messaged the seller before an opening bid last night to see if he'd consider selling it outright. He said he would and threw out a number. I said OK and thought we had the framework of an agreement in place. I asked to follow up in 30min because I had to put my boy to bed. Followed up 25min later but never heard back. Sent another message this evening at 6:18p. Received response at 7:11p saying he relisted it BIN and it sold.

Someone got a helluva hat. Wasn't me.

Interesting, seems like with a starting price like that he didn't really know what he had. I thought you could actually see the relisted item after it was sold but it still shows as $17.30

As a new guy I'm just holding out hope that sweet deals can still be had.

He didn't, because it was originally listed as a Resistol hat because it came in a Resistol box. He later edited to Stetson, but still didn't realize the significance of a 7XCB. Furthermore, I think this may have been a 40s hat because there were stars in the sweat and liner crest and no liner tip protector. Very early 50s at the latest.

The BIN price was a steal. I honestly think we'll be hard pressed to find a deal that good again, but every now and again they crop up.

Well, hopefully it was someone here and doesn't show up in a couple weeks for $600.00

Argg...sounds like during that 25 mins someone offered more. Probably has happened to all of us. I know it has me.
I’ve seen a bid go to a bin go to a sale, before and after an initial bid, in minutes many times for hats and jackets etc. The good stuff doesn’t last long for savvy eBay hunters! Lol
And that was a nice CB!!
