I'd been asking him for a BIN for like 4 days, but he hadn't responded. He apologized, and said he'd been out of town. Then he asked for 20 dollars less than my offer, so I promptly accepted. [emoji5]I figured you would eventually buy this one...
I totally agree. I find it curious how my taste in hats has evolved so quickly.I didn't think very much of 2 toned hats previously, but that is pretty damn slick. Maybe I've just been looking at the wrong combinations.
This Japanese seller is way off base, isn't he?

But why can't their Japanese buyers just buy a hat here (well, in the US anyway) at regular prices? Is it because import duties are huge in Japan? If so, how do the sellers avoid paying those taxes when they import the hats to Japan and still make a profit in their local market? Not if they are selling, and given he is not the only high-priced seller in the Japanese market I am guessing they do sell.
Do you remember the crazy Japanese market for used Levis Jeans? It looks like vintage hats are making a comeback over there and have been for a while...
Shameless!I totally agree. I find it curious how my taste in hats has evolved so quickly.

And why do the Japanese sellers, who know that we can buy them here at a fourth of their asking price list them on US eBay? I doubt anyone here would pay that much.

I love it when you talk economist. Those look like current market inefficiencies. They will probably iron out over time.
For now the biggest pain is the language barrier, getting sellers to send packages internationally, and shipping costs. eBay is helping to take care of these points.
