How do most of you search eBay? Do you use generic searches (vintage hats) or do you more often add a manufacturer name to the search (vintage Stetson hats)?

There are always misspellings, wrong categories and just plain odd listings that can yield a diamond in the rough.

I bought this just to remove the temptation from Bowen. Listed as a woman’s hat in size 6 1/2. No idea where they got that from...the width? Sugar white 3X with Last Drop liner.

Hmmm, I believe that same guy was trying to sell his father's/grandfather's new/vintage/original/antique Borsalino for $1,000 a few weeks back. Then that "hat brush".... well that's just the icing on the cake! Probably already used with black shoe polish, too. Thanks for the morning humor!

My thoughts exactly. I buy those shoe polish brushes at the Kiwi rack in Walmart for $5 each!

I just read the whole MacLachlan thread and realized I may have stumbled into a rare one. The color in the seller's pics seems similar to rlk's Scottish Cream MacLachlan. I hope it is even lighter than the pics show. It very well could be, because it seems the reddish color in the background could be reflected into the hat.
