Yep, that’s the one. I threw out a bid thinking that if it went cheap enough I could find it a home here on the Lounge.
You did it...you did it!!!
Good go!!

I'm afraid that was my first really competitive bid ever. I forgot I was trying to buy something, not competing. I hate to lose. I'm glad the bidding didn't go higher.Came within $8 of my max bid. Now to find one in a dark chocolate.
Vintage 7-1/4 1950s Royal Stetson Bantam Fedora
Just bought this one on eBay. This was my first time watching the last seconds of an auction. How exciting! It starts vibrating every few seconds... And you wish all the other bidders' fingers have gone numb.

Oh, Bowen told you about yours too? What an enabler! Thanks for the heads up on this hat. It’s lighter than what I was looking for, but how many times will such a hat in my size come along? And the more I looked at it the more I liked the color.

Lol...Actually, no less than three fellow Loungers told me about this hat but Bowen was the first.
I think you are on the right track about the quality of the Resistol 100 vs Churchill 100. I believe Resistol bought Churchill back then so it makes sense. Idk. That would have been quite a temptress i admit. It’s surprising how few vintage boxes I have.
I was actually thinking about you when I threw out a Hail Mary bid on that 7 1/4 Resistol Beaver 100. I was thinking it would make nice trade fodder. My understanding is that Churchill was the upscale brand for Resistol and I was hoping that 100 was close to a Churchill 100. If I had come across it earlier I’d have given you a heads up and tempted to to fall off that wagon one more time. As it is, someone got a pristine hat for $100.

I’m trying not to fall off the wagon, but a deal is in the midst for a 50 as we speaketh. Your old 50 is liable to yet again change heads!! Lol
The Bantam today was more than i could bare. Arggh. Glad the Doc prevailed!!

Err... pretty sure Bill et al was in on that one.Thank you Bill! I wouldn't have seen it or known of its rarity if it weren't for Bowen.
"You just have to have friends who do," right Bowen?

Looking at a couple of the pictures, I think you will find this one will be much darker than you think... I am so glad you got it!!!!!!!!!Thanks, Mark. I almost missed it as it sold just below my max. There always seems to be folks with deep pockets when it comes to the larger sizes.
Now to find that elusive dark chocolate brown homburg....
