Apologies for the drift off topic, my "what is that" referred to Randall's post.
Anybody bidding on this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-near-mint-Antique-1958-john-b-stetson-royal-de-luxe-FEDORA-gray-hat-/231164588332?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35d27bb12c
I think it made of mink.

Dobbs straw of D.C. provenance - perhaps buntal?
I am? I shouldn't complain. I run across some great old hats here in Massachusetts. I need to drive around Connecticut and see if I can't run into some more.
This is another cloche I won yesterday. I was sure the bidding would go over 100, but I won it for 72 bucks! Yipee!
It has such an interesting lining, I have never seen one like that before:

A Stetson 100, size 7-3/8 in the trunk and with the plastic hat holder only hit $238! A deal for someone who is not me.
There is a little mold on the hat, though. This probably kept the bidding down.
So, here is the question... how easy does mold clean out of a fur felt hat? I have never had the occasion to find out. Anyone know?

For that money with complete case, it is worth a shot at stain removal...
I sort of thought so, too. Worth a shot if that is your size.
Interesting that the sweat doesn't have the laced ribbon in the back...
