Elusive Stetson 5X Beaver Quality. Not ancient and not clear, but still a rare one.

I just nabbed this one earlier. A nice "American Legend" (made by Beaver Brand) 5X Beaver. I've been on the look out for a green hat, and now I've got one! Can't wait for it to arrive.

Nice one Alan! Isn't it too big for you? I had thought you were a 7 1/8...
Very happy to have got these

Would there be a way of telling if they are vintage 1940s felts?
They are not 1940s.
They are not 1940s.
Intended for women's hats... they show up from time to time in triangular boxes. Look forward to your report. I hope you prove me wrong.
Those kinds of Borsalino felts seem to show up every now and again and I always wonder what kind of hats they are intended to make.
They are not for fedoras, right? Are they for ladies hats of some kind?
Cool - the question is answered even as I type!
I'll be making women's cloches with them, I know they are too small for men's. Do you think they might be contemporary?
(he says, backpeddling from knowitallness.)
