Things in your size are easily obtainable. Quit crying a river. :p

Listen, I'm about to cry me another river over an auction that ends in a couple of hours. Who cares if I have an easily obtainable size, when the particular (and rare) vintage hat that I want is too small?

I'll post this auction after it's over. You'll sympathize, trust me.

I'll sympathize but you can usually find fifteen hats to my one. :p
I did cry a river over the Flechet though. ;) There was a homburg and another hat in my size that I forgot to bid on that went for peanuts as well. :(
You can always get your head shrunken. :p

BOSTON! LETS GO PATRIOTS!!!
I so know how you feel Marc! I've had a different kind of problem, I keep getting outbid. I spend day's watching items, and at the last minute the price just skyrockets out of control. Dresses that were $30 with five minutes to go end up selling for $300. I have had a few instances where I was watching an item with a few minutes to go and I get wrapped up in doing something and forget to bid. But most of the time I lose items do to other over zealous bidders who pay ridiculous amounts for outfits or dresses. I do think it's funny, for I get the last laugh sometimes. At the last minute the other bidder thinks they are getting the outfit for a low price, then I place a really high bid, and they end up having to pay a lot more for something they thought they were getting cheap. Usually, for I know I do, I put in a much higher bid than what the price is at, and hope that it won't go that high. Other bidders seem to be doing the same thing. So, in the end a dress that was only $30 will end going for hundreds. So, even though I've lost a quite a few of these outfits, I laugh a little because the other bidder ends up paying such a high price for it. Since this happens at the last minute, they are probally shocked by the high price they end up paying. HAH! They thought they were getting a deal. But, in the end, I've lost one too many dresses because of these people who put outrageously high maximum bids. I'm gonna have to learn to sew if this keeps up.

On another note, I won an item over two months ago, and I still haven't received it. The seller has cashed my check, but hasn't sent it yet. I have inquired about it quite a few times, but to no avail. Now she has stopped returning my emails. I now have to put in a complaint with ebay, which I hate doing, because it gives her a reason to leave me negative feedback. I have yet to receive negative feedback, and don't want to. But, I paid a lot of money for this dress, and want to know why I haven't gotten it yet. The item was won on July seventh!!

I haven't had too much trouble stretching felt hats back to their "original" size. I have a really cool looking Adam that's shrunk all to heck but is otherwise in fine shape. That one's a 7-1/4 so I'll have to stretch it a little more, but it should be OK as long as I don't go overboard.

I think that first tie was worth it just for the surrealistic value! :)
I saw an Albert Nippon suit in my travels today, a silk and wool blend. 42 regular, a sort of dark khaki/taupe color, new and never worn. Very nice light weight fabric. If you're interested I could pick it up for you.

I can't bid on vintage clothing items beyond hats due to the fact that sizes are off. A large then ain't a large now. I've given away the things I received and were too small. :( -A 46 was more like a 42- And my post cancer meds left me like the old heavy Elvis compared to the young thin Elvis so even my regular clothes don't fit any more.
