Eastman Rough Wear 27752

I’ve been wanting to scratch the Eastman itch for a while so pulled the trigger on this Rough Wear 27752 contract.

Absolutely stunning jacket but my one sticking point is the collar…I knew it was going to be a large collar but wasn’t expecting it to be like this.

Anyway the fit is pretty good, 44R I’ve also ordered an Eastman Star contract to try this against as it’s a tad longer in the arms and back so could be a good option. Will update in a few weeks once it’s been made and I can compare the two.

Thank you. I seem to get lucky and things fit me off the shelf. Just not 100% on the style and it’s not a cheap jacket.

I love the horsehide Eastman uses. Not the most heavyweight but so nice and subtle!

As to the collar; yeah, they are like this. It will look better with wear. You may leave it buttoned for a while to help find its natural ciurve.

Can´t do better than Eastman for an A2 (as much as I love my RMC)!

Yes the horsehide is absolutely amazing. So much lighter and nicer to wear than my Aero.

I’ve got a Star contract on order as this was my other option, should’ve just ordered them both at the same time to begin with.

After trying the RW on again today I am very close to just cancelling my order for the Star contract and going with this. I know I should probably wait to compare the two but having the jacket sitting in a box in the house is too tempting.

I did just that…

27752 being broken in as we speak! A trip to Thorpe Abbotts home of “The Bloody Hundredth” 100th Bomb Group today and off to “The Red Feather Club” 95th Bomb Group at Horham tomorrow. Some nice original A-2 jackets on display too.

Stopped off at former RAF Bungay (Flixton) too on the way back to where we are staying. Not much left of the place mainly farmland now but some old concrete hardstands still exist etc.
