For those who own an Eastman G-1, how is the fit? True to size or other, I have no confidence in their size calculator because it seems to be sizing me way up for my height. I normally wear a tall, do they custom make tall sizes because I don't see any reference to this anywhere on the site. ~Thanks.

I do wish Eastman would publish measurements on the site, that said Rob has always been excellent whenever i'v asked him about sizing.. which i'v done often. Shoot them an email.

I'm afraid that's a bit of an open question, best thing if you know your measurements drop ELC an email asking for advice on their sizing.

Agreed, their Size calculater is a bit of a generalisation and personally I would only use it as a guide and knowing your own measurements will always be best.

1) Pit to Pit
2) Shoulder size
3) Front & Back length

These are the measurements that I use and have always have pretty good results, I also own an Eastman G1 (albeit over 10 years old now) in a size 46" reg and I would say that the jacket is pretty much to size but patterns can be changed and amended over the years so what may seem like a size 46 then, may not be the same now if you see what I mean.

They do offer Long sizes, which are 1" longer in the body and sleeves, but only on request and they are non returnable.

Like Omarco said, send them an email, Rob is super helpful and will give you any measurement

Hello (bonjour),
I'am 38 chest and all my ELC jackets are size 40 (G1 & A2).
For the G1 , i took a size 40 and it's perfect, in the COCKPIT brand, i took a size 38 in their current issue G1.
Cheers,
FF

My ELC is about three years old now as a reference.

I'd say that their G-1 fits true to size to maybe a half size bigger. I can't quite pull off a 46 in most issue jackets, but can in the ELC.

Two things to note about the ELC version:

1. The ELC is based on a model of the jacket that was broader in the back than average. This makes for a more roomy fit up top.

2. Despite number one, the jacket tapers nicely through the waist. So, if you a little bigger around the middle it may require you to size up a bit.

That's what I was looking for. Guess I'm going to have to give Rob a call, as suggested.

Broader is good. I'm pretty much "V" shaped so I can use all the shoulder room I can get.

Very good shoulder room IMHO especially compared to service issue originals...

Actually from what I understand, the ELC G-1 is based on the first LW Foster contract which had a wide back, big armholes, and a well proportioned waist.

I don't know how the sizes match exactly, but I think ELC did a good job of picking a flattering contract.

From Moore's site:

And, while I had had some doubts as to the stiffness of the leather when I first got my ELC, here's a shot of a LW Foster and my ELC as is stands now.

Fairly convincing wear I'd say.

I appreciate the responses, everyone. I'm going to measure up and give Rob a call. Then it's just a matter of getting up the huevos to pull the trigger.
