Wow, I like the colour and aging a lot! Some time ago I was searching for a natural CXL leather jacket, but without success as I didn't know that Aero offer this leather. Enjoy wearing it!

I don’t know if they do, but they had some last year that they were trying out and were contemplating adding it to their standard range as well. You might ask them if they have some in stock.

My Dustbowl in natural CXL arrived earlier today and I snapped some pictures that I wanted to share with you.

Can’t really write an essay about it since I’m typing on my iPad, but the short version is that I’m really happy with it.

I’m 181 cm, 82 kg. Went with a size 42 as per Holly’s recommendation. Added some sleeve length and a throat latch like on the original Hercules which turned out real nice I think. I’m happy with the fit. It allows for some layering without being too loose in my opinion. Went with the Mackenzie weathered tartan for the lining which I think complements the natural cxl nicely.

The natural cxl definitely is very unlike the natural veg tanned leathers that I’m used to. It’s a lot darker and almost sandy brown. It will be interesting to see how the color will evolve with time.

Huge thanks to Holly and everyone at Aero for being so service minded and quick to respond on all my emails. Also a special thanks to Julie Leitch, great work!

Hello Sir!
What is the back length of this jacket?
I see some of this model on the Aero sale page, but the back for size 40-42 is always around 24" which seems short to me.

The back length is 24”/61 cm. It don’t feel short on me, but I’m wearing high rise jeans and trousers. It sits just above the back pockets on my jeans. This model has a front dip, so any longer and I think it would be too long in the front. But of course preferred back length is a matter of subjective opinion, and it also differs across body shapes.

Thank you for the info!
Any chance you got a pic with regular rise jeans?

It looks great! And with that work shirt, it looks like you just stepped right out of the Great Depression . . . and possibly into a new one the way the world is going at the moment!

Keeps getting better and better. Slowly developing some patina or even character: "a polish that comes from use - a quality that calls to mind the past that made it". (Jun'ichirō Tanizaki)

I’ll certainly look the part the way things are going at the moment. Unemployment is up 300 % where I’m at since this crisis started...

Thanks Finn! It’s getting there :)

Once in a while on here a jacket comes up that just seems like it not only suits its owner, but is an extension of him. This is one of those jackets!

That is high praise, thanks Nick!

This is the best thread I've seen for watching the aging process of that leather. It really does become more and more beautiful as time goes on, and it looks like it's just getting to that stage where it develops a patina like no other leather, except maybe 50 or 60 year old goatskin. Perfect design for seeing the development, too.
