Here is a nice example of a cool 50s fedora. It is made by Dunlap and has a really interesting feature of the ribbon. Instead of the bow being on the side, like they usually are, this one has it in the back. A classic back bow model from the 50s. It was originally sold in Portland, Oregon at the Multnomah Hotel Hat Shop.
Color wise it is a dark brown (again, the photo makes it appear a bit lighter, but only a bit). The ribbon color is interesting in that it is brown, yes, but has a shimmering quality to it. I don't think it is faded, either. It is also a large ribbon measuring 2-1/4 inches. the crown has a diamond crease, the brim is 2-1/4 with an overwelt edge. Inside is a solid leather sweatband and a very clean liner with a plastic shield over the logo. The size is 7.
I paid $32 for it. I'll sell it for that. (shipping extra, but probably around $12 inside the USA)
