Behind the 8 ball,..
Someone in the neighborhood is restoring this beauty. Can't wait to see it, when it's done.

Is that an ice cream truck?

It's well known the original Corvette based Chevrolet Nomad was destroyed sometime after it was featured in the 1954 GM Motorama. Since you can't own the original this masterfully crafted replica is about as close as you can get to owning the real thing. This replica took the car's owner and creator over 7 years and almost $400,000 to build and now the amazing result is listed for sale on Ebay.

Oh no....I hate to hear that.
Especially with the miles per gallon it should get.
You can't just convert the trunk into a rumble seat? :D

Unfortunately needs must...

It's a fabulous little car, but we can't use it as a family and I need to repossess my garage from her... I have a BSA M20 to restore
(yes. I am vaguely aware that the BSA will not be used by the family either. I believe Mrs Saint-Just mentioned that once or twice  )

I almost forgot how great those old two axles look! I hope you find one, and in your price range! Yes, that part of Colorado is spectacular. If you ride motorcycles, you owe it to yourself to ride the Colorado Rockies!

I've found some already done up, but I'd rather have a project. I have way more satisfaction when I build it myself and drive it around than if I buy a turnkey vehicle. I'll probably sell my '29 chevy/'36 ford to raise the money or see if someone will trade for the ww2 ton 1/2.

As far as motorcycles go, I like to ride, but not that far.

Santa Monica auction house Gooding & Co. has landed a rare Duesenberg to sell at its annual auction at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this August.

The Blue J, a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Dual-Cowl Phaeton in its signature blue livery is part of the William A.C. Pettit III collection from Natural Bridge, Va.

The Model J still carries its original engine, chassis and LeBaron Dual-Cowl Phaeton coach work. It is expected to sell for $2 million to $2.75 million.

Well behind the front lines!
I drove my WW2 Jeep in a parade yesterday, and I watched several vehicles almost drive off the road while the drivers were trying to point out my ride to their passengers. One was alongside me, not looking ahead and trying to fumble with a camera! I actually pulled off the side of the road because I didn't want to cause an accident (especially one with me in it). Drives me nuts when someone will pull up alongside me in the Jeep and they'll honk their horn, not realizing that there's nothing between my left ear and their horn, less than 5-6 feet away. I even chewed out someone once who did that a couple of times at the next red light we came to, and you could see the lightbulb come on over his head and that it never occured to him I was being deafened by it.
You also get tired of the "$50 jeep in the crate" stories. Just goggle that phrase and you'll find out what I mean...

Went on a 2,500 mile trip to Scotland in May/June with our 1947 Riley. Apart from a punctured tyre, which I had to change in the middle of a cloud of midges, the old lady (the car, not the wife ;) ) behaved well!

No problem to travel with a 65 year old car.. one only needs patience and empty roads

This week, we'll go to Devon with the Riley, followed by the Goodwood Revival. Let's cross fingers that it'll work out well!

Cheers,
Tom
