So today I put on my black fedora, the Scala that was the first I ever bought, and something horrible happened.

I started critiquing it, the crown is too low and it tapers. Did I know that 2 years ago? No, no I didn't.

And it's all your (collective) fault(s).

Annnnnnnd, now I have to buy a new black fedora.

You'll pay, you'll alllll pay.

:D

Stay away from black, you look great in that brown jacket - a medium brown hat would be perfect.

Brown I got, I'm adding black to the list behind light grey and a taupe. :D

Agreed. Black can be so severe. It took a lot of work to get my Rusty to look more friendly, but I think I managed it. Even then, it probably won't get as much wear as some of my other hats, simply because I don't wear a lot of black or grey at the moment.

2 years is a long time, though. I think you're justified in having Art make you something. lol

To further explain, my other three hats go 5" to the crown.

When I first started wearing them, they looked too tall and straight but I got used to them through constant use.

Now I realize the 4" is just too short for my face.

I suppose it's an evolution in familiarity.

I just need to get a new, taller, black hat.

Carebear, that really is a nice hat. I've seen and touched one, so I'm not just relying on pictures. The way this hobby works is, you keep that one, and buy a few dozen more, for variety. After all, that's what collecting is all about. But then, with over 2,000 posts, you knew that already! ;) lol

I agree with J.T. Marcus. Keep the hat as your collection grows.
You might find yourself grabbing a particular hat as a mood strikes you. Variety is the spice of hat collecting.
