. I was a FOOL for not picking one up about six months ago when they had 'em for $42... what was I thinking?

I don't know what you were thinking, but I wish I'd been looking back then:eusa_doh:

MattDeckard... I've been just about everywhere but this one and the indy community :p

and D'oh! that was exactly where I was planning on getting mine, lol. I have to ask, whats the Iconoclast feel like? Does it have any stiffness to it's shape? I'm thinking of placing my order this weekend...

It started out sort of stiff, but has softened nicelywith usage. I bought it as a rain hat and it's been through a few pretty good storms and still holds its shape. I do nothing more than hang it on a doorknob to air dry it.

If I get a chance in a day or so I'll try to post a photo of its current state. I've snapped the brim down pretty far -- but I like it.

That must've been some sale -- when I saw one in person a couple of years ago, it was $100 and the Jaxon was $50.

If my Jaxon ever loses its shape or I need to replace it, I'm at a place now where I wouldn't mind spending more for an upgrade. As it stands now, though, I only need one brown hat.

Hey, what kinda shipping did you get for the hat, Doh!? I'm trying to save as much dough as possible, but not wanting to wait too long to recieve my hat lol
And I wish I could say the same for the one brown hat at a time deal....[huh]

Actually, I picked it up in person at their store in Long Beach. I've subsequently ordered a porkpie via mail from and believe the shipping was pretty reasonable. They have sales from time to time so that might have been the case.

I think the Iconoclast is a great "starter" hat for the money; it's only a little more expensive than a wool felt. I really like their porkpie (Monk) as well.

Well, I'm not really a starter when it comes to hats, I have quite a few, mostly vintage. I'm just not the luckiest when it comes to finding them in my price range in my size, lol. Btw, the picture of the iconoclast looks like a turned down brim, but is the back very easily flipped up?

And geckoheart, I wish your seller had some Indy fur felts in a size small at that price:(

Doh! :eusa_doh: looks like I'm answering questions directed at you. Let me step aside.

Oh, my reply wasn't aimed at you, Gecko. We just posted at roughly the same time. The more the merrier on the topic, if you ask me.

I'm going to try and upload photos later on tonight. "Try" being the operative word.

For some reason, I can't edit my last post, but finally, here's a photo of my Iconoclast in all its brim-turned glory.

I was going to get some more (better) shots but naturally, my batteries died... d'oh!

Hey, looks just like a brown dick tracy hat, quite awesome. However, I might be waiting a bit on mine, so that I can buy a lid off of ebay. The iconoclast will be around for a while (might even go on sale again!) but ebay could be gone in a heartbeat.
