Does this Aero CR fit?

So, after 6 months of looking, I bought a jacket here I hoped would fit me. I've never seen an Aero before in person and only had internet pics to go by.

Quality wise, I love the colour, weight, all that good stuff. It's the fit I have no idea about. From the pics, does it look like it does?

The sleeves feel tight to me. Layering doesn't feel possible. Is that how these are made? It feels basically like t-shirt only with it.

It zips up without issue. The shoulders feel snug to me, and arm bends feel a tad tight. Again, I wonder if this is how they're made? I want to know if I'm chasing a unicorn for the sizing in case they are supposed to feel this way.

It's a 44. I'm 6'1", 210-215.

Does it fit may not be the right question. Does it look good on is really the question. My take is it fits, but it looks too tight and short at front. The back seems to have room which suggest you are close.

Of course, some people like the fitted or trim look, which works best on a lithe frame in my view.

For reference, I am six two and 185 pounds - a 44 fits ok if it has a 23 inch chest and 27 inch back length. A 44 is interpreted differently across different patterns and makers.

Overall, it fits with a tight look, maybe add one or two inches on the chest, the rest of the parts look ok.

Yes, you are chasing a unicorn. Evidence is how many jackets are bought and sold here.
As to fit, it seems to me that leather either fits with a t and no room for layering or fits with layers and feels baddy with just a T.
Only option is to have 2 jackets in different sizes. It sounds like a joke but sadly isn’t meant as one.

It's a nice looking jacket - I like the CR in brown. As stated above, it's a tight look on you, and I think that's okay. But in the side view pic, it looks a bit too short in front to me. That may be caused by the angle of the photo though.

I have the same jacket in a 42 and I’m 6’ 200 lbs. and I love the fit of mine. It looks pretty good from what I can see.

I think it is a good fit overall, but the front looks shortish in the profile pic. The pics are really cropped, it would help if they were shot just a little wider and extended below hips, maybe down to thighs, so the length could be assessed. Good fit overall, though, imo.

Cafe racers look best when they fit trim, and depending on how trim they are it it’s not uncommon for it to be a T-shirt only fit. For a jacket that you picked up secondhand I think this one fits well, certainly well enough to keep for a while and see if it feels any more comfortable after wearing it more and getting used to it.

Def hard to tell from the pics. First pic (unzipped) it looks too small. Zipped pic it looks too large. Back shot looks good. Impossible to say from the pics IMHO.

Wardo, don't take any offense to this please. I always reccomend to folks to do the following for fit photos:

• Tuck in your shirt
• Wear jeans (or kacki's) and a belt as you would dress if going out with the jacket
• Ideally use a point and shoot or camera/i-phone on a tripod, keepit back a little, then crop in later
• Un-zipped, zipped and sleeves zipped up are all preferable
• Back, front, side & 3/4 view (think about the front of a car)
• Ideally take it outside in natural light

From what I can see, it's a good fit, and a CR is indeed supposed to be "snug" but not "skin tight." CR's were my first Aero's, I still really like them.

it looks like it fits, but was it your natural way of posture, the open picture the front is bowing out like you bring your chest forward and pull your shoulder back intentionally, making the jacket looks too small and will never zip, but then it zip up alright , so it is hard to judge.

It’s difficult to tell to be honest from these pics.
Something to realise is that there’s no hard & fast ‘rule’ with a tag size. There are 44’s & then low & behold, a 42 might do the job. There’s also widely different patterns to understand (cafe racer vs highwayman for instance).
Your best bet is to take some time to understand your basic measurements & use those when assessing any new jacket.
I’ve tried a bunch of cafe racer based Aero jackets (and still own 2) & am a basic size 42. I’m 185 cm & 92 kgs. However, I also own a sized 38 & 40 Highwayman, 42 Sheene & Sunburst & 44 Board Racer, they all fit great.
I’ve come to realise that the cafe racer is a difficult pattern for most people to get a ‘great’ fit. It tapers aggressively from the chest to the waist.
For me anyway, the board racer is a much better cut.
Yours looks ok to me, but perhaps some better pics would help.

Also, 'fit' is somewhat subjective. To me the sleeves look too long. But that's because I like to wear mine a bit shorter. There are threats here discussing sleeve length but in the end there's no right or wrong, no rule of thumb.

To be perfectly honest with you, you could get a much better fitting jacket. It fits you in a way that you can zip it up but it looks either too tight at some places or too loose elsewhere.

No jacket should ever feel too tight or like you can't layer underneath. It's supposed to be worn over clothes.
There isn't anything particularly special about how Aero CR is made or how it should feel or be worn. It's just a leather jacket. Maybe one that's a bit more V-shaped than the others but that's about it. I had a few, still own one that I love. It's a perfect casual jacket and I enjoy wearing it. All that is to say, if you feel like there's something about this jacket to get used to, you're wearing a wrong size.

A bit too tight from the front, though, that looks quite O'k - it depends on personal preferences, but it's too roomy from the back. All-in-all it doesn't look bad, but it might fit much better if order a new one from Aero or Thurston Bros given them your own measurements.

aren't CR's 'racing shirts'? I'm not a fan of this style of jacket for casual wear.....everybody thinks they will look like Tom Cruise when they put it on.....never gonna happen. Having said that, there is the old fashion maxim 'if it aint hurt'n it aint work'n'.......that is, sometimes one must suffer discomfort to achieve the desired look. I think it looks fine on you.

* side note - ordering clothes over the Internet is fraught with difficulty.....you can hope and pray that the garment fits in the desired fashion, but unfortunately misses are far more common than hits. Take a trip to Aero - try on some jackets.....only then will you find out what you like, how it wears on you...and how it fits.

I'll take more pics with jeans and post them. I'm thinking though...it's maybe a wee bit too small.

I got today also a CR in black, size 48. In it the arms and shoulders feel pretty good, but now the torso concerns me a bit.

Yes, internet buying blows. Trial and error to be sure. I don't live in an area where I can see examples around me to check out, from jackets to footwear to jeans.

the thing is....and this is what I have learned......you can imagine something.....like for example how great it would be to wear a cafe racer jacket...but until you get one and put it on, one has no idea whether the idea of wearing the jacket - and the expectation of wearing it - has any grounding in reality. The itch needs scratched, I get that.....but the 100's of threads here about ill fitting jackets are not a coincidence........what you want to feel and look like in a leather jacket is rarely matched by the reality of wearing / owning it. ( and of course the leather jacket look is probably one of the hardest to pull off.....)

In these pictures, it looks too tight from the front (chest) but too loose (extra material around the pits) from the back. I think this has to do with the pattern more than anything else.

CR is one of my favourite designs, I’ve got an early Brooks that’s more comfortable on the Bike than off...
