Can anyone describe the fit of this jacket? It's the one with the fur collar and wool insulation.

Does it run large? What about the sleeve length?

Thanks!

This jacket is a lot like one that I'm currently using: Model 4461

Authentic WWII jacket? No. But that alone, does not make it a bad jacket. I was just at The Golden Bear factory in San Francisco. This is one of theirs. I tried it on. I was already wearing a hoody, and this jacket felt good as the final layer over what I was already wearing. I'm a fairly stocky guy with a wide back & wide shoulders. This jacket had enough room to fit me from shoulder to shoulder, and I was able to move & stretch out my arms. A big guy like me is able to ride a bike with this jacket. Smaller guys could get smaller sizes.

The major differences from my uniform jacket is that the LL Bean has elastic in the waistline, and the uniform jacket opens with zippers at both sides for access to weapons. The uniform jacket has a badge tab. Inside pockets on the uniform jacket are side opening and have hook & loop to holster a back-up weapon. The uniform item pockets are all lined with a heavy duty cordura material to handle industrial use items, as opposed to the smooth satin linings in most civilian jackets. The issued uniform jacket does not have a warm wool collar. I would prefer the shearling or mouton that is in the LL Bean jacket, as opposed to the polyester over Thinsulate.

The seams looked good - no loose stitching. It is warm. The leather is excellent. Would I buy this jacket? Yes.

I reviewed an older version of this jacket. Also insulated with a quilted lining and includes a mouton collar. Mine differs, tho, in that it doesn't have an A-2-esque storm flap and has a two piece yoke back. Think the current one has a three piece.

Great jacket - look for my review.

Mine's a 42 and fits true to size. But, don't think they still sell the version I have. I've heard the newer ones in alpha sizes run big. Best to call and make sure or order two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit.
