Does anyone know the hat company "Pedigree Fifth Avenue"?

My first hat was a Bailey Cowboy hat but my first Fedora was inherited from my father and had been kicking around my parent's house since I was young. It was a dark brown fedora with a name from Pedigree Fifth Avenue and i wore it for a good number of years until finally retiring it to the back of the queue. I've become curious though of late about the brand. Ive been debating having the hat rebuilt and was wondering if it were worth it. Does anyone know Pedigree? Did they do mostly wool felt or did they do furfelt? Any information would help. Thanks guys and gals.

There are several here familiar with Pedigree; they also did a couple of grades of panamas. I have one of their lower-grade panamas and recently had Falcon Park Hattery put a new sweatband in it and a new ribbon.

Even though it was their 'lower grade' of panama, it is equivalent to a fino grade, in the 400 ~ 500 wpsi range. With the sweatband now gone, the only link to Pedigree for this hat is my memory. RLK is definitely knowledgeable about Pedigree.

It seems they also made boaters. The store on the sweat closed in 1956, if that helps date the brand any.

And the pics of the size tag couldn't hurt this thread either.

After researching the union tag, it was made sometime between 1934 and 1939.

I grabbed a Pedigree on eBay for $9 last week. The pictures looked rough but it arrived only in need of a cleaning and shaping. Other than the liner, mine had no other markings. The sweatband seems newer than the hat so I assume the other markings that may indicate its true age were lost in that process. The sweatband is not leather. If anyone has insight, I would appreciate it.
