Does anyone else equate currency with its jacket equivalent?

It's actually not a bad comparison, as nicer handguns do run in a similar price range as jackets... don't get me started as I've been good and haven't bought one in about a year...

As they say about Wolf Brand Chili: "..............." :)

It's always funny to also see the rapid change in tourism habits in American cities when the dollar is weak, and the European tourists take great advantage. I'm sure that in Paris and other European cities see the same influx of Americans when the dollar is strong.

Definitely makes a difference. When the dollar nosedived last time for me it was great for ordering stuff in the mail from over there (though I know it wasn't so great for UK jacketmaker's exports to US). Didn't take advantage of it to holiday there, though, as that was during the phase where they were fingerprinting pretty much all tourists at entry at JFK. Maybe I'm just precious, but if you want to treat me like a criminal for wanting to holiday in yer country, I'm going elsewhere. ;) Heh. Next time, though. The pound is rubbish at the minute - it's still at a serious low of 1.5USD to the pound. Dreadful.

I heard that from my father many times growing up, especially when we broke something... "do you have any idea how many hours I have to work to replace that, etc...." Those were not "calm" conversations!

I'll bet! I think it's a fairly universal.

I definitely equate currency with jacket purchases...as I do with any of my other "obsessions"! I even "cross-reference" them in more of a bartering sense..."if I sell THIS guitar, I can buy THAT jacket"...

Ha, yes.... thought about that many times.

You guys are nuts. The proper currency is to use is firearms. (Just in case any of you folks were not aware, Oklahoma has the largest number of firearms owned, per capita, of any state in the nation.)

The exchange rate would be high. Currently, it's ten years per gun in the UK. ;)
