During the 2003 power outage we had two neighbor families with their children stay with us, for we had light and refrigeration (gas). The second evening everyone on the block was at our house with the contents of their refrigerators, and we all cooked, ate and preserved, as the food was going to waste, anyway. Everyone, that is, except the doctor/survivalist who lives next door, whose noisy generator ran all through the night. When he ran out of gas, however, a couple of the other neighbors drained the gas tanks on their toys to keep him going.

Now, our new neighborhood was struck by a tornado in 2010. All six houses on our block were severely damaged. One neibor borrowed an old Lull lift from his brother-in-law, and everyone's twenty-something kids, grandkids and nephews came over to help with the heavy lifting and the cutting. Our house was the only one on the block to retain its electric service, and the local utility was not going to get to us for several days, so I ran temporary lines to the neighbor's houses to keep their lights and refrigerators going. The storm occurred on a Friday night. By Monday afternoon all the damage had been carefully documented, the fallen trees were removed from the houses and the roofs and walls of the houses had been secured against weather intrusion. That wvening we held a pot-luck supper to celebrate our survival, and toprepare for battle with the insurance adjusters.

We could arm up and raid them though. Kick them off and grow real food and ranch animals.
It wouldn't be hard. Some heavy metal music and big speakers could drive them off.

Yeah, suing a bank over Fanny and Freddie loans being sub-prime loans is the most stupid thing I've ever heard- Freddie and Fannie loans were designed to be sub-prime by the government. Now if BOA was sued over non-Freddie and non-Fannie loans, or they are suing for some other reason (rather than the loans being sub-prime as detailed and required by the government) then I am all for it. But don't sue a bank for giving out loans to low income people.
