On Hiatus. Really. Or Not.
From FBDO...

INT. GARAGE 84

The door opens slowly, dramatically as we hear a heraldic
fanfare. Light streams in to reveal Cameron and Ferris
looking at the car. Ferris is smiling with excitement and
awe. Cameron is frowning with trepidation and fear.

CU. FERRARI STALLION

The prancing black stallion. We move up from the stallion to
the erotic red hood of a 1958 Ferrari 250 GTS California.

CAMERON AND FERRIS

Cameron's face is ashen. The end of the world is at hand.
Ferris is in heaven.

CAMERON
(grim monotone)
1958 Ferrari 250 GTS California. Less
than a hundred were made. It has a
market value of $265,000. My father
spent three years restoring it. It
is joy, it is his love, it is his
passion.

FERRIS
It is his fault he didn't lock the
garage.

CAMERON
Ferris, my father loves this car more
than life itself. We can't take it out.

FERRIS
A man with priorities so far out of
whack doesn't deserve such a fine
automobile.

The ONLY things missing are Grace Kelly, some fried chicken, and beer!

You beat me to this one.
So, my second choice would be Powers Booth's
1935 Plymouth coupe from the HBO series Philip Marlow: private eye

Guess what!

I discovered the graffiti-covered jalopy I mentioned months ago. It's not a movie car, it's the real deal. This is what impoverished kids used to do with the jalopy they drove to high school. Dare I say 1925's equivalent to ground-effects and vinyl stickers on a stock Honda Civic? :D

I like all of the mid 30's and early forties cars but another of my favorites is the 49 Buick Roadmaster convertible driven by Nick Nolte in Mulholland Falls. The movie is set in 1951 or 1952 but the flair of the Forties didn't end with 1949.

th

The problem was that when the XP-38 came out demand and resale value of the X-34 plummeted. Though once fairly popular, especially in rough environments on backwater planets, the few that can still be found are often in very poor condition with no way to restore them.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Gone in 60 Seconds, and I mean the original not the remake

I was thinking about all the talk about kids buying the cars they could afford and adding their own personality and I could not help but think of Love Finds Andy Hardy. One of the sub plots is Andy trying to save for his dream car.
