Edit: Ok that sounded awful! WONKing as in WONK the chaos reigns players in the OB. Not anything dirty. Jeez......
I could say the same to you! lol By the way, where are the rest of our "actors" tonight?

Hey, it's not for lack of trying on our parts, ladies...;) No points for "effort"?

Effort is good, but I find a lot of guys think that fulfilling romantic stereotypes counts as effort, when in reality the effort I want has nothing to do with romantic stereotypes because it doesn't suit my personality!

Yeah but that takes out all the drama of romance. If the person is too right, it's so boring. I can't be in a relationship with someone who I can't have heated and passionate debates with and it's no fun programing in what you want to debate about!

Guess that illustrates why my role is usually only "the friend to be invited along when there's a high possibility of trouble and a specialist's eye (and trigger-finger) may be required...":( Always the one turned to when the chips are down, only to be put right back in a cage as soon as it's over. Can you tell that romantic's heart plus cynic's mind is an unpleasant combination to live with?:eek:lol

Ha! I've always called those situations "Rent-a-Friend" situations.

Personally, I'm very cynical, brash and opinionated so it really takes a certain kind of person for me to be friends with them. I operate under the "I'd rather be alone than have friends I don't like" mentality which I suppose could potentially be a lonely road when I get older and am less content with being a hermit!

Well no I'm not the one being rented because, like I said, I made the decision after younger years of being the Rent-a-Friend that I would rather be alone. I guess it's pretty hard to be a Rent-a-Friend when you disown all your friends!! ;D

I use my hermitdom and the way I refer to all my ex-friends as people who have "betrayed me" as a section of the stand-up comedy I do, so I'm sure I didn't react to your dissatisfaction with your friends in a particularly kind or comforting way, and I do apologise because I don't mean to minimize your problems.

Yeah sometimes I do wish I had a crush on a real person. I think there's a lot of fun to be had in that...all the drama and the wondering and the excitement when you're near them and hoping that they'll just grab you and kiss you and be like "You're amazing." And you'll swoon and blah blah.

But I'm just not one for having a crush on any old fellow so I will wait some more.

I think those things happen when you least expect it. When they do, you just go with it - or not, as the case may be.

I don't miss the unfulfilled pain & longing of some crushes of many years ago, but gee, they were fun, too!:)

Now I just watch Melrose Place reruns to get my jollies!:p
