You are so right. They are certainly celebrity. No more so than gangsters from the so called Golden Age. They've made the stingy brim popular again.

Honestly my only beef w/ the new ganster look is the fact that they chose the 60's look.

Celebrities have never really influenced me much. As I wrote in another thread, I remember the hats men were wearing in the early and mid 60's. My Grandfather had a carpentry shop and I saw a lot of thin ribbon hats on the folks coming in and out. They were men dressed in kahki pants long sleeved shirts with the sleeves rolled up and a lot of thin ribbon Fedoras. They all drove old pick ups loaded with lumber and were headed out to the job site.

When I hear "Vintage" that is what comes to my mind.

I do wonder though, If Indiana Jones had such a huge impact back before the days of internet and such then what impact might the movie have now? Plus with a not to far follow up of public enemies to show Johnny Depp with a hat.....could be a lot of decent hat wearers in the making.
