Hi all wonderful People!

I recently stripped an old (Schott) jacket for its zipper and installed this zipper on my "new" (Aero) jacket!

Thought i would share!

That is so cool. Great job!

I've been eager to do some hand sewn zip replacements myself. Can I ask how long did you cut your hand sewn thread length? 30"? My jacket has about 21" or so front length and I figure I can get one continuous stitch line with roughly 30" of thread with a needle on each end and just do the basic loop over stitch.

Very cool but just curious why you used a different color thread?
Also did you use the existing needle holes?

I would definitely try this versus sending a jacket in unless the repair person could guarantee they would follow the existing holes to the best of their ability
