I do believe, however, that men posting in the Powder Room would do best to show some courteous restraint in the content and frequency of their postings. It's an issue of respect.

I can understand that ... and I can stay true to it, too. More than a week ago, I posted some images of ladies' dresses from a 1931 clothing catalog. Now that, we'd both agree, was an acceptable, even enjoyable post. I've also given opinions about colors, and recently started a thread asking which vintage decade was preferred by Lounge ladies. All of these "Powder Room" posts were just fine. The trick for me (and other men) is to keep our posts at such a level, and without too much frequency.

Am I following you correctly on this?

Thank you, Marc. I'm sure you can appreciate our position. I hope I didn't offend with my directness in my earlier post, but I've reached the end of my rope on this issue. It has come up before, and doubtless it will come up again, and I'm getting tired of taking the issue around and around in circles. I am hereby washing my hands of the whole thing, but I could not do it in good conscience without at least voicing my opinion in a clear, unmistakably direct manner.

I posted in the Powder Room's "Dita" thread because I know and like her. Frankly, I never thought twice about doing so until I read your post, which convinced me that another "Dita" thread, in another place, would be a good compromise.


Sometimes, the only thing we can do is react to feedback. We don't always have the sense to predict it.
