Dita's latest show has received some criticism, summed up by TLA: http://thelingerieaddict.com/2012/06/dita-von-teese-strip-strip-hooray-revie.html

I haven't seen her perform, so I can't really comment, but I am surprised that her act might contain issues with racial stereotypes. I don't know if that would stop me from seeing her act, though - some people like to cry racisism when that is probably not what was intended at all.

I would love to hear what people who have seen the act think.

Here in Germany, the products are already awailable in the beautystores. Tomorrow, I'm going to see if there is still something left from the products so that I can buy me something

The shelf was almost full, so there was much of everything left for me :)
The only thing I bought was a lipstic. It's the color 628 (the one she's wearing on the advertisement poster), a very dark and intense red. I haven't worn it yet, but as far as I can see, the color lasts very long. I swatched the sample on the back of my hand and although I tried to remove it with soap, there is still some color left. The lipstic costs 14,80€ (ca. 18,50 US- dollar, but I dont't know wether it is exactly the same value in the US or UK).
I also wanted to buy me the Powder and the Lipliner, but I didn't have enough money with me for the liner (I think I'm going to buy it later) and I wasn't sure if the powder causes acne on my very acne-prown skin. But I swatched the powder on my hand with the sample and it felt very silky and soft. It first disappointed me that the tip of the lipliner looks brown, but when you put it on the skin it is a nice (and a little pink-ish) red.

Oh, thank you for the information!
Do they market it as a seasonal collection or just as a new line? Oh, and one more question - how light is the face powder?

I don't know, but I think that it's only a limited edition (I'm not sure). The powder is light, but I think it becomes transparent on the skin so that it smoothes together with the tone. I think it is better to test it before

Has anyone heard any more about Dita's beauty book?

It says currently unavailable on Amazon but I am sure it used to have an October release date on it.

Sorry, don't know if this has been covered as I don't have time to check all the posts

From a mans point of view:

I saw Dita perform about 3 years back, Dita was the star guest artiste at the Erotica show in London and performed her 'Champagne' glass routine. Very ornate with excellent choreography though basically she is a striptease performer and gets it all off except the G string and maybe pasties(thats the nipple covers and not the Cornish ones;) ) No tassel twirling though .
Up close she is of a very small stature, hardly anything of her but very well put together, looks like she has had a breast enhancement, very pale skin contrasts with her black hair though this is probably something to do with lighting effects

You should try to catch the TV show Dita Von Teese in Paris, Dita is interviewed about her career and performs various elements from her shows including fan dances, the Quanteau routine(similar to the 'Champagne' glass dance)
and the Dragon Lady show, here she has the tassels but still no twirling.
Dita explains her inspirations for these shows and how she interprets Burlesque performed today and in it's golden era.
My observation of Dita is a great performer, but rubbish at interviews as her near monotone style almost sent me to sleep.
The TV show is a French production from 2009 but did not say available on DvD.
Well worth catching if it's on your TV as I could not find it on You Tube.

Thanks Johnny! :) I find her a bit monotone in interviews too, but it's sort of funny to see how quiet and almost meek she is, for a burlesque performer.

I do hope she comes to Toronto, I will definitely see her show.

All right, so I've finally got away from work to wander into a drugstore. :)
I have a feeling, that this one didn't carry all products of the collection, but I've expected that, really. I've bought the powder, the mascara, and eyeshadow so far. The powder is indeed light enough for the very pale gals (hoorah! :) ), and is mattifying without making you look like the facade of a building.
The eyeshadows are nicely pigmented, stay all on day, and don't budge (and I was even too lazy to apply primer), pretty much what you'd expect from an ArtDeco eyeshadow.
Now, the mascara I'm in love with! Art Deco's website states that it contains natural wax. I can't offer any insight on that, but the mascara goes on smoothly, does not clump your lashes even on the third coat and it leaves the lashes soft and smooth. I'll definitely stock up on this one.

Now, the lipsticks were quite a disappointment to me. Not because of the quality - they're richly pigmented and go on llike a dream. But because of the colour range of the reds. Several cherry-reds and two orange-based reds, and those are really orange. Not even one true red, like the Dita is wearing in the ad. So - no lipstick for me :(

Interesting to see Ms von Teese in this Shakespear's Sister video - I'm much more of a Siobhan fan personally.
I left a link rather than embed the video coz it's a bit naughty - you know, the "Not Suitable for Work" kind of deal.

^ I am so incredibly envious of you ladies who have access to the makeup! Here in Texas (US), it just isn't available. :( I would love to see some photos of the products in use/being worn!

I didn't end up going to see Dita that evening that I mentioned a few posts back. My day went from bad to worse (car problems - $$$$) so I just wasn't in the mood to get cuted up, and there was no way I would go to see Dita in anything less than my vintage! So, I stayed at home and watched X-Files and ate pizza instead.

Dita is selling one of her cars and the listing includes a few photos of Dita in trousers. I've only seen a few photos of her in trousers and am always curious to see more - thought I'd share it here. :)
