This is a double page spread from Gentry Magazine, which was an Esquire style men's lifestyle magazine. It's from the Fall 1953 issue. The square you see in the second (right hand) page in the upper corner is actually a glued in felt sample.

My apologies for the lack of a pristine scan, but I was hesitant to put too much pressure on the magazine.

Disney hats. It's a window into a particular period of Golden Era

Just giving this a little bit of a bump. It's interesting how they focus on the lightweight felt as thought it were a new thing. Obviously, there have been lots of vintage hats posted at the Lounge that pre-date these with very light felt. Of course, then as now, magazines are pushing an agenda and fudging on the facts isn't uncommon.
