Well, I guess so 41eiffel... the superficial coat seems to be quiet fragile, and the leather is very soft. I understand that this jacket I bought is a kind of "test" jacket, a prototype for DD.
I still have to test it in the rain, to see how it reacts...

I was very curious as to how quickly that tea core would age. I wonder if the shinki tea core will age that quickly? I think it looks awesome. You could always dye it black or brown down the track if your not happy with result. I love it! Would love to see evo pics of that one on a very regular basis.

Well, I've just put in the order.
Black over Bordeaux on tea core is what it is. Nickel snaps and brass zips.
P.S.: I've written before that there were Buco jackets with brass snaps but there weren't. Excuse my misinformation, please.

I agree that this is one awesome looking jacket.
For my tastes though, I'm going to go against the grain with the masses here and state that I'd be a little concerned with that much change of the hide's appearance after such little time.
This is of course unless it was made clear from the outset that this is exactly what this type of finish was designed to do - then woah, yeah it looks stunning!

I do wonder what it'll look like though a few years down the track. Will most of the obvious wear happen in the first few weeks / months of use & then plateau?

It'll be an interesting one to watch, so please do provide updates pic's every few months.

p.s. Upon closer inspection - You'll need to beat the heck out of that belt to get it to visually match the rest of the jacket's appearance. It does look brand new!!!! ;)

My shinki has a light brown base, but the seal top coat is not going anywhere in a hurry. The tan's come through on the zip area and around the collar, but nowhere else.
